The constant improvement of the Teemill platform relies on participants actively reporting bugs or suggestions for improvement. We massively appreciate your feedback.

It does not matter, either way we must convert your file into a print file when we process it - a lot of converting and processing goes on, which we won't detail as it's super complicated. It allows us to take any image and make it printable, but also is one of the reasons - as well as one of the facts of life in digital t-shirt printing - that we can't 100% match pantone colours. If colour matching matters to you, sRGB PNG24 files are what we use in house to upload, so save in RGB. Printing on white tees result in the greatest vibrancy and the closest colour matching qualities.
A computer screen is capable of displaying a wider range of colours than a printed t-shirt. Very bright or dark colours will appear softer and paler when printed on a t-shirt. Because of this, we very slightly alter the colour range of your design to better reflect how it will appear on the final product that your customers will receive. If you’ve noticed this, good eyes!
If your design is uploaded and has a white border or background, and you would like to get rid of this, there are two options. The best way is to go online and learn how to cut out images in a program like photoshop, and save as a transparent PNG. This will create the highest quality artwork. For a quick fix, we have a handy tool in our studio called the De-White tool, this will remove all of the white areas in your design for you. However this is only recommended for use on white base products. For more tips, check out our artwork guide in our blog.
The best way to do this is to cut out the black area in a program such as Photoshop, and then save and upload your design as a transparent PNG file. We have an artwork guide in our blog with some helpful tips.
Every order gets fulfilled automatically by our factory, the same day. You can keep track of your orders but you don't actually need to do anything. Teemill is a "fire and forget" product where you can set it up and let it run. We take care of fulfilling all the orders, dealing with all the customer care (returns, exchanges, questions on sizes etc) and you can just kick back - or even better, spend all your time on the fun stuff - work on amazing designs and start promoting your store.
We deliver to most countries worldwide. The only limit is the availability of services provided by our payment and courier partners in a country.
Whilst we ship all over the world. The Teemill factory and HQ is currently based in the UK, and we fulfil same-working-day orders from here. We power stores and ship products for thousands of customers in hundreds of countries.
This is taken care of in the standard postage charge, there is no extra work to do when selling across borders. Teemill is an international service for international sellers.
Teemill ships orders the same working day. If your customer orders at the weekend, the order will be shipped the next working day. Shipping is rapid, with over 90% of first class orders arriving next day in the UK. International shipping takes between 3 and 5 days depending where in the world an order is going. Customers are notified of expected delivery dates when they choose their shipping options. Orders from stores with a Pro upgrade are also prioritised over standard Teemill orders.
As a certified organic company, we use low-waste digital printing tech and inks that conform to the GOTS/Soil Association organic criteria. Our printing technology allows for an almost unlimited range of colours, and provide a quality feel. Our inks contain no animal derived products and are not tested on animals.
Teemill uses our own brand of blank products made from certified organic cotton in an ethically accredited, renewable energy powered factory. The neck labels are unbranded so your products look professional and blend seamlessly with your brand - so you don’t have to wait or pay for relabelling. We stock over 100,000 t-shirts on any given day for incredible in stock availability.
The neck labels are plain labels with only the size on them, so your products look professional and blend seamlessly with your brand. It also means you don’t need to wait or pay for relabelling, there’s no label to remove and replace. Instead you can spend your time on customising your packaging, invoice and confirmation emails.
If you’re a startup brand, you’re probably looking for relabelling to ensure your products look totally authentic. Listen, at Teemill we totally get that! Relabelling means tearing or unpicking a seam and sewing something else in, for every product. It also means sourcing your own labels, because you can’t have someone else’s logo in your brand’s neckline. But what if we just took the logo out? Teemill products have a specially designed plain size / neck label - this saves you massive amounts of time, cost and hassle - and relabelling can be messy too: If noticed by the customer, knowingly mucking around with labels can harm your image more than a simple size label. The fact is that customers buy tees because the design and the marketing is rad, not because of a neck tag. Keep it simple with unbranded neck labels and spend your time and money on what matters.
For our adult tees, tops and sweats, the print area is a large and roomy A3 (That's about twice as big as an A4 sheet of paper). To get the most out of your design, our handy templates are free to use and can be found in the Teemill studio. If you want to max out the design area, take your design to the edge of the template before saving up, and use the "fill area" button in the design tool. Printing prices are standardised no matter what the size or how many colours you use, so feel free to go big!
Our data from hundreds of thousands of t-shirt sales shows that a quality print applied the simple way, on the front chest, is by the far the most successful way to sell t-shirts online. As such, Teemill comes with that option as standard. If you really really need it, back prints are available with Teemill Pro, but this application creates increased cost and will be harder for you to photograph and merchandise, you can do it in Teemill, but you really don’t need to. We do not print on the sleeves or inside of clothing.
Yes of course. Navigate to "samples" in the main menu to find out how to order a sample product with a discount. If it’s a one off to try a new design or two, you can design and order through the sample studio. Alternatively use the sample code to order at a discounted rate through your store to get the full customer experience. Please note, discounts will reduce or eliminate your profit on the item and customised, discounted samples are non-refundable.
For the last couple of years we've used a type of plant based polymer made from sugar cane, but we're phasing these out with a redesigned rip and splash-proof mailer bag made out of paper. Big orders come in boxes, with paper-based tape.
Yes. If you upload a unique design to Teemill for which you own the copyright or trademark, you retain the copyright, trademarks and associated rights. This is covered in the user agreement.
Custom CSS is not currently a feature available on Teemill.
No, this is not currently possible. We take every effort to ensure that your customer's data is safe and secure by following modern and extensive eCommerce security principals, but an embedded web page can only ever be as secure as the page it is embedded within. When you embed a Teemill store into your own website via iframe there is no way for us to guarantee that your site meets the same security standards as Teemill, and it is essential that we maintain the highest data security standards on behalf of your customer. As a result, we prevent iframes from loading Teemill stores.
All Teemill products and stores are checked by our system for potentially offensive content or intellectual property infringement before being processed and launched. This processing normally takes less than 24 hours - however we are unable to process new products over weekends.
Yes, Teemill Pro users can connect a domain they already own to their Teemill Store. Follow the simple instructions provided in the Custom Domain app to start using whateveryouwant.com.
Please tell us about it! We cannot reply to every issue submitted but we do read every one. Bug reports are actioned immediately, and feature suggestions go into each month’s development work. If you have any feedback whatsoever, we strongly encourage you to use the feedback tool at the top of every page and use it as many times as you like (some people report dozens of minor tweaks) ideally with one issue per ticket.
We don’t currently offer any integrations with third party platforms.

At Teemill we provide full time in-house customer service for store operators. Returns, exchanges, refunds, questions etc. are handled during office hours on behalf of store operators as part of the service.
If you take enough orders, from time to time one might go missing in the post, or be the wrong size. No worries - just fire it over to us via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or copy us in to the tweet, @teemillstore - we'll take care of it the same day.
You'll earn the same amount as you would on any of your standard Teemill products.
The Teemill API is intended for developers only. If you don't know the difference between a POST request and a GET request, then the Teemill API just isn't for you.
The API is designed for professional programmers only, and therefore we do not offer technical support for API projects. If you need more help than the API guide provides, a Teemill store may be a more suitable product.
You can use our API to create t-shirt products as long as the product and connection meets our terms of service. We expect you to take reasonable measures to prevent copyrighted designs, hugely offensive or explicit designs etc. If content created by your application consistently violates our terms and you do not resolve the issue, we may close the connection.
Yes, Teemill is designed for international use. Our currency app lets Teemill store owners display pricing in international currencies including Dollar and Euro. Display prices are calculated from Teemill GBP costings via the European Central Bank (ECB) exchange rate, which means display prices will occasionally change.
Each month your royalty earnings per sale (on orders that have been completed and not refunded during the 14 day returns window) are totalled up and transferred automatically via PayPal on the 1st of the following month. In most cases this is instant, although it can take up to 24 hours for paypal to process and clear the transactions and for the funds to appear in your account. You will be emailed a report by Teemill showing the royalty amount earnt and sales for that month.
No, this is taken care of. The money you are paid each month is ex VAT. The UK government charges VAT on all Teemill sales and we pay this before we send your royalties to you, so you don’t need to pay any VAT.
You would be paid earnings excluding VAT. Regardless of where you are, the UK government charges VAT on sales of Teemill stores. The VAT element of your earnings can be claimed back from the UK government by you, but only if you are a VAT registered company in the UK. If you are not sure if you are VAT registered, you probably are not.
No there are no targets, time limits, delays or minimum order quantities. You sell one item we print one item the same working day and we ship direct to customer, simple as that. We send you your profit (on orders that were not returned) at the end of the month. It’s real-time printing that’s designed to work like a normal ecommerce business, just without you having to do the work..

Currently, we do not enable store owners to download raw customer data, but it is something we’re working on at the moment. The rules around data storage are undergoing a big change, and we take customer data protection very seriously. Either way we believe that Teemill should contain all the tools necessary to use that data - for example, by enabling store owners to send a newsletter, see their reports and analysis, or even mail their customers postcards. Use the feedback tool to tell us what you’d like to do with the data, if it’s a great idea, we’ll build the tool in Teemill!
It is not currently possible to create voucher codes for Teemill stores. We do regularly create Teemill-wide promotions and codes, which are announced via the newsletter that all sellers receive. We send out a newsletter in advance of these promotions so that store owners have the opportunity to use the promotion in ads and marketing. We sponsor these promotions, so they do not affect your profits.
