Have you seen those geometric animal masks flying round online? We're unsure how anybody could possess the brainpower required to make just one of these 3D cardboard masterpieces, let alone pump them out at what seems almost a daily pace. But that's the kind of skill the Wintercroft team can take for granted and it translates into a whole load of love online with shares, likes and user generated content - this lot are a low-poly viral snowball.<\/p>

Their brand quickly built up a solid following and with some on-brand geometric tees, they built sales off the back of their edgy, interesting and original photos. We caught up with the team to talk about their eye-catching store.<\/p>

It\u2019s great to be able to talk with you guys about your project, the tees and whatever dark magic you use to create such good masks. Could you start by telling us a little more about your brand and what it stands for?<\/strong><\/p>

\"Since 2013, we\u2019ve provided downloadable templates that enable anyone, regardless of previous experience, to build incredible 3D Masks using either waste materials (such as cereal boxes) or cardstock. We are driven by the belief that everyone possesses the ability (and urge) to create.\"<\/p>

\"Turning raw materials into something beautiful is an enriching, rewarding experience that we are passionate about facilitating. In an increasingly digital age, we feel that the therapeutic, tactile experience of making things is often missed out.\"<\/p>

Steve had been a professional surfboard shaper for many years and became increasingly uncomfortable with the amount of waste the surf industry produced:<\/p>

\"When you surf, you travel, and you spend a lot of time actually \"in\" the environment. Maybe there's something in the creative surfer thing. But the masks happened around a time when sustainability<\/a> was really front of our thoughts. An invite to a friend\u2019s Halloween party and the usual last minute costume panic led to a raid on the recycling bin to see where some old cereal boxes would get us. One hour, 4 cups of tea and some tape and scissors later we'd started something - and here we are now. The mask was well received so we decided to redesign it and make the templates available and accessible to everyone. This was the first step toward a new creative venture.\"<\/p>
