Movement is a great way to catch someone's eye when they're scrolling through their social media and in this blog post, learn how to create thumb-stopping animated graphics in 4 easy steps, using just your phone.<\/p>

Before we start making animated marketing content, we need some content to animate - and that means photos. Pictures of people wearing your products are always going to be a good starting point. People look at people, and if people look cool and are wearing your stuff, well, that's one of the reasons people buy stuff. They want to look and feel like the photograph. So how do we get great shots to start with?<\/p>

1. Get some stuff to shoot<\/h2>

There are loads of shots you can download and use for free in Drive<\/a>, especially if you're a Pro store<\/a> - but the best photos will always be ones you take yourself. 2. Pick your shot<\/h2>

When it comes to creating animations, it's best to use photographs that are bright, dynamic and have a good amount of space around the figure. Photograph your model from a distance, or place your phone a few metres away if you're grabbing a selfie. Adding animation will bring busyness to the photo, so starting with a clear, simple, zoomed out image will stop the end result from looking overcrowded.<\/p>

Try out different poses to create a photo that's full of energy, as this will make it easy for you to add some graphics in the next step. As for the background - single colour walls or open spaces with no people around work really well.<\/p>

3. Throw in some colour<\/h2>

Once you've taken your photos, hunt through to find one that's cool, well lit and interesting to look at. Experiment with different angles and poses. The word we use is energy. If you do a shoot with friends it's easier to get shots like this as they're relaxed around you and you'll probably be having a laugh to start with.<\/p>

Open up your image in the free Photoshop mobile app<\/a> if you want to add some colour and texture. It doesn't have to be complicated, often simpler looks more powerful. Make sure any text you include is big, clear and easy to read.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Get creative with this stage. While we used bright splodges, there are millions of ways you could bring colour and movement to your image. If your brand has more of a graphic style, try drawing lines around the figure or adding in big blocks of colour to be animated. If you want a more psychedelic effect, try drawing swirls around your model.<\/p>
