We recommend updating this every two weeks at a minimum but every super-successful store checks in once a week to update their collections.\u00a0<\/p><p>The key things to look out for when doing this task.<\/p><ul><li><p>Make sure your bestselling products are at the top of your collection. You want your best performing products to be the easiest to find for your customers.<br><br><br><br><\/p><\/li><li><p>Always make sure new products you\u2019re promoting are also near the top of your collection. <em>You can see a pattern forming here - the key is to make it as easy as possible for your customer to find and purchase your product.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><br><br><br><\/p><p>Try using the sequence: <strong>BEST SELLER \/ NEW \/ BEST SELLER \/ NEW<\/strong><\/p><p><br><br><br><\/p><\/li><li><p>The best in the business at ecommerce merchandising are ruthless in terms of cutting products that aren\u2019t selling and you should be too. Keep collections clean and simple by removing products that are under performing. We recommend using a \u2018one in, one out\u2019 system when launching new products.<\/p><p><br><br><br><\/p><\/li><li><p>The seasons - something to always be aware of is the weather outside. In the heat of summer customers are going to favour buying t-shirts over jumpers and vice versa in the winter. Your product sort order should always try and reflect this.\u00a0<\/p><\/li><\/ul><blockquote><p>It is worth noting that if you have a best selling tee, <strong>do not hide it<\/strong> over the winter by putting it at the bottom of the sort order to accommodate all of your jumpers at the top of the collection.\u00a0<\/p><p>Winter is a different mindset for consumers as it is \u201cgift buying\u201d season so you want your bestsellers of the year to be easily found. They encourage customers to hit checkout, help your store show up in search results and make easy social media content - putting effort into <a href=\"\/blog\/?search=descriptions\">product descriptions<\/a> pays off over and over.\u00a0<\/p><p>Think about what people looking for your products might be searching for\u00a0 - e.g. if you have a design of a kingfisher on a t-shirt, calling it something like \u201cKingfisher T-shirt\u201d.
