More than 75% of all textiles products are not recycled. That means a truck full of clothing being burned, or landfilled every second. Instead, every product we make is designed to be sent back to us when it's worn out. And our systems and technology enable us, for the first time, to recover and remanufacture our organic cotton items and remanufacture the material into new products.
New products remade from material we recover can be remade again and again - the cycle itself is renewable.
As well as using natural, plastic-free materials, renewable energy and printing products in real time, this kind of circular economy for material changes the fashion industry. Because when the product ends it's life back at the start, there is no waste.
Our remanufactured material is reintegrated back into our supply chain, where organic cotton is spun, cut and sewn into new products, powered by renewable energy, and where all dye water is recirculated and reused. As a GOTS certified company, the workplace is audited for a wide range of social and sustainability criteria. And when a customer buys stuff, we print in real time - in the seconds after items are ordered. It means we only make what we need, so there is no waste.
The technology that drives our manufacturing processes doesn't just eliminate material waste, it also makes our process more productive. This leads to savings that help solve the economic barriers to sustainability. Our manufacturing tech is why we can make better materials, better jobs and better outcomes affordable for customers - and better value for everyone.

Throughout our supply chain renewable energy is used. In the UK we own a solar farm and power our entire manufacturing operations with renewables. In India, the factory owns two wind farms and a 150kw PV array.
Within our factory we use machine-to-machine communications technology which allows us to dynamically turn equipment on and off only when it is needed.

We develop technology at our factory to improve all aspects of t-shirt printing. This includes working on lower impact chemicals, software, machinery and automation technologies. It enables us to make products in real time - we only make products after they have been ordered. We share the benefits of this technology free with startups and charities at Teemill.com
